Li Ju An Dipping Sauce

Dip away!

My Chinese sister-in-law (her name is Li Ju An, but we call her Anna) taught me how to make this sauce from her home town in South Eastern China (I can’t pronounce it let alone spell it!).

It goes on our table most nights….especially when I serve Asian flavoured foods, but honestly, it is great with almost anything.

Li Ju An Dipping Sauce

  • ¼ cup soya sauce
  • 2 tbsp Mirin (sweet rice vinegar)
  • ¼ chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp chilli flakes (buy smoked if you can find them)

Mix all ingredients together.  Let sit for 20 minutes before serving.

Toss into stir-fry’s, wraps, any rice or noodle, soups, etc.  The list is endless.  Also a great pre-cooking marinade!

Lasts for weeks in the fridge.

YUM!
